According to the railway rules, anyone found without a valid ticket will be fined ₹250. In addition to this, the offender must also pay the fare for the distance they have traveled.Failure to pay the fine can result in further action, with passengers being handed over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for legal proceedings under Section 137 of the Railway Act. Repeat offenders may face stricter penalties, including harsher fines or imprisonment.Indian Railways continues to enforce these rules to ensure compliance and prevent revenue loss. Passengers are urged to purchase tickets before boarding trains to avoid such penalties.
