*Hyderabad: August 24* – Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari has issued a new directive requiring District Collectors across the state to spend at least one night each month in residential schools and hostels within their jurisdiction. This order, communicated late Friday night, comes on the instructions of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.The directive mandates that Collectors not only stay overnight but also document their observations and actions in a diary. This initiative is aimed at assessing and improving conditions in these institutions.Recent concerns about food poisoning, health issues, and inadequate facilities in schools and hostels have prompted this action. The decision follows protests from opposition parties, students, parents, and student associations, highlighting ongoing issues in Telangana’s educational institutions.The Chief Secretary’s order underscores the government’s commitment to addressing these concerns and ensuring better living conditions for students.
