**Hyderabad** — Heavy rains have caused Hussain Sagar Lake to reach its full capacity, with water levels now exceeding the full tank level. The lake’s water level has risen to 513.43 meters, surpassing its full tank level of 513.41 meters. The increase in water levels is attributed to significant flooding from the Banjarahills, Picket, and Kukatpally canals, as well as runoff from the surrounding upper areas. In response to the rising water levels, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has begun releasing excess water through nozzles into the Musi River to manage the overflow. The GHMC has issued alerts to residents in the Musi catchment area, advising them to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions. The situation continues to be monitored closely as the city deals with the impacts of the heavy rains and subsequent flooding.Authorities are working to manage the water levels and mitigate the potential for further flooding as the rains persist.
