In Hyderabad, AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi has voiced strong criticism against those advocating for the demolition of a school he established in Bandlaguda. The institution, which accommodates 1,000 underprivileged students, has come under scrutiny amid a broader anti-encroachment drive by HYDRA.Owaisi addressed the issue during recent public events in the Old City, emphasizing the value of the educational facility for hundreds of poor students, including girls. While he did not directly name HYDRA or the BJP, he urged that his work should be preserved. “If needed, you can pump bullets into me and stab me again, but please do not undo the good work done by me,” he stated, asserting that his plea for preservation should not be construed as weakness. He challenged opponents to counter his contributions by establishing their own institutions for the underprivileged. The controversy surrounding the school comes amid claims by the BJP that the Fathima School is located within the Full Tank Level (FTL) of a water body. However, Owaisi refrained from naming any parties or directly addressing the BJP’s allegations. It remains unclear whether the school is situated on encroached land or within the FTL.Recently, HYDRA’s operations led to the reclamation of 12 acres of Bum-Rukn-Ud-Dowla lake in Rajendranagar, with several illegal structures, including those owned by AIMIM figures such as MLA Mohammed Mubeen and MLC Mirza Rahmat Baig, being demolished. Despite this, HYDRA has yet to make any official statements regarding Owaisi’s properties.
