Hyderabad: MBT Spokesman Seeks Justice After Death of Mohammed Haji Following Alleged Beating

Hyderabad, August 27, 2024 – Amjed Ullah Khan, spokesman for the Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT), visited Ibrahimpatnam to meet with the relatives of Mohammed Haji, who passed away on August 26, 2024. Haji, originally from Ibrahimpatnam and currently residing in Hafez Baba Nagar, was known for selling coconuts at Santoshnagar X Road.According to reports, Haji, along with his friends Govind and Naresh, had visited Adibatla Dargah and was returning home when they stopped at RCI Road for tea. Finding tea unavailable, they opted for soft drinks and noticed a large container parked nearby. While observing the container, a group of 10-15 individuals from a nearby village accused them of theft and began to assault them.The altercation prompted a call to emergency services, and the Adibatla Police arrived at the scene. The three men were taken to the police station, but during this time, Haji, who had recently undergone surgery and had two stents implanted, began experiencing chest pain. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.K.P.V. Raju, Assistant Commissioner of Police for Ibrahimpatnam, was approached by Amjed Ullah Khan, who requested that the investigation into Haji’s death include the allegations of assault by the accused and that all involved in the beating be arrested. Haji’s body has been transferred to the Government Hospital in Ibrahimpatnam for postmortem and will be returned to the family after the examination.
