**Hyderabad, 2nd September 2024:** Former Union Cabinet Minister and senior Congress leader M. Pallam Raju has voiced his concerns to the Congress high command regarding recent actions taken by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA). Despite his objections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has expressed his support for Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in this matter. The controversy stems from the demolition of ORO Sports Village, a sports facility established by Pallam Raju’s brother, Anand. The facility, located near the Full Tank Level (FTL) of Himayat Sagar, was recently demolished by HYDRAA. Raju has expressed deep dissatisfaction with the action, claiming that the demolition occurred without prior notice, despite all necessary permissions and clearances being obtained for the facility’s construction.“This is not just about the demolition of a sports facility; it’s about the arbitrary exercise of power without due process,” Raju stated, raising concerns about the legality and fairness of HYDRAA’s actions. He has called for a review of the demolition and questioned the motives behind targeting the sports village. In response to these developments, Rahul Gandhi has come out in support of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, backing the state government’s stance on maintaining and enforcing regulations around the Himayat Sagar area. Gandhi’s support suggests alignment with the state government’s efforts to manage urban development and protect water bodies from encroachment. The demolition of ORO Sports Village has sparked a debate about urban planning, regulatory enforcement, and the rights of property owners in Hyderabad. As the issue unfolds, it highlights the broader challenges of balancing development with environmental protection and regulatory compliance.#HYDRAA #Hyderabad #RahulGandhi #RevanthReddy #PallamRaju
