Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Vows to Demolish Illegal Constructions, Challenges KTR

*Hyderabad, August 28, 2024* — Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has made a bold commitment to demolish any illegal constructions, including those owned by himself and his family, if evidence proves they violate regulations. Addressing the media on Wednesday, CM Revanth Reddy declared that all buildings situated in Full Tank Level (FTL) or buffer zones will face demolition without exception.In his remarks, Reddy criticized the recent bail granted to BRS leader Kavitha, questioning the speed of the legal process compared to similar cases involving AAP leaders such as Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal. He suggested that political favoritism might have influenced Kavitha’s swift release and hinted at a possible covert alliance between the BRS and BJP.The Chief Minister called on BRS leaders KTR and Harish Rao to lead a fact-finding committee to investigate encroachments, particularly those affecting lakes. He demanded accountability from public representatives and called for the suspension of BRS leaders Malla Reddy, Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, and Palla Rajeshwar Reddy for alleged violations.Reddy also targeted KTR’s Janwada farmhouse, questioning the local Sarpanch’s approval of the project and accusing KTR of failing to disclose the lease in his official affidavit. He suggested that KTR should face disqualification as an MLA for this oversight.Additionally, CM Revanth Reddy announced that the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) will soon gain police station status to enhance its law enforcement capabilities. He emphasized that public representatives must lead by example and that no one, regardless of their position, would be exempt from legal scrutiny.Addressing education-related encroachments, Reddy condemned the misuse of educational institutions for illegal constructions on lake lands and warned against absurd scenarios like a “floating college” on Tank Bund.On the issue of loan waivers, he reported that the government has already cleared loans for over 22 lakh accounts, benefiting nearly 20 lakh families with a total of ₹17,933 crore. He assured that the remaining waivers will be processed as soon as outstanding loans above ₹2 lakh are settled.Reddy also referenced allegations of corruption in the Valmiki Scam and past incidents involving BRS MLAs and drug-related activities in Bengaluru, underscoring his commitment to addressing corruption within the party.
