**Amaravati, September 19, 2024** – The state of Andhra Pradesh has introduced a new free sand online booking system, set to go live today. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will officially launch the portal, allowing citizens to book sand from village and ward secretariats across the state.The free sand initiative aims to simplify the sand distribution process while ensuring transparency and efficiency. The newly designed portal has been tailored to ensure seamless interaction between officials and sand transporters, minimizing errors and streamlining the process.To oversee the smooth implementation of the system, district-level committees have been formed under the leadership of district collector officers. These committees will monitor sand availability and distribution, ensuring that the new system operates without any hindrance.This initiative is expected to bring relief to the construction sector by providing easy access to sand, a critical resource, while reducing the influence of middlemen and curbing illegal sand mining. The online portal marks a significant step toward digital governance and citizen-friendly services in the state.
