Bandi Sanjay Urges State Government to Seek Central Vigilance Commission Investigation into Amrit Scheme

**Hyderabad, 24 September 2024** – BJP leader Bandi Sanjay has called on the Telangana state government to formally request an investigation into the Amrit scheme by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). In a press briefing today, Sanjay accused the state’s ruling Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) parties of staging a “drama” around the scheme, which has come under scrutiny for alleged corruption and irregularities in contract allocations.“If the Telangana state government believes that there is no corruption in the Amrit scheme, and that the contracts were awarded fairly, they should not hesitate to write to the Central Vigilance Commission. A CVC investigation would clear the air once and for all,” Sanjay stated. The BJP leader further assured that if the state takes this step, the Union Home Minister would take a special initiative to convince the CVC to conduct a thorough investigation. “We will ensure that an impartial probe is carried out, and the truth comes out. There should be no hesitation if there is nothing to hide,” he added. The Amrit scheme, aimed at improving urban infrastructure and water supply across Telangana, has recently been a point of contention between the state government and opposition parties, with the BJP alleging mismanagement and corruption in the implementation of the program.Sanjay’s remarks have put additional pressure on the state government, which is already facing criticism for its handling of the scheme. The Congress and BRS have yet to officially respond to the BJP’s challenge, though they have previously denied allegations of irregularities.
