Hyderabad: DSC Results and SC Classification Await Guidelines

Hyderabad, August 7 — The ongoing uncertainty surrounding the application of Scheduled Caste (SC) classification in teacher appointments has left many in suspense. Following a Supreme Court judgment mandating SC classification for teacher appointments in the state, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy previously announced that this classification would apply to existing notifications. The state government has indicated it might issue an ordinance to enforce this classification. However, despite this assurance, SC classification guidelines have yet to be released. Senior officials including Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Chief Secretary Shantikumari, and Special Chief Secretary of the Finance Department K. Ramakrishna Rao are currently on a visit to the United States, and the release of these guidelines is now expected only upon their return to Telangana. In the meantime, the School Education Department is preparing to release the DSC (District Selection Committee) results based on the reservations outlined in the current DSC notification. The DSC written exams, conducted from July 18 to August 5, saw 2,79,957 applicants, with 2,45,263 (87.61%) attending and 34,694 (12.39%) absent. The state government issued a Mega DSC notification on February 29 for filling 11,062 teacher posts. If the SC classification guidelines are finalized before the DSC results are published, they will likely impact the appointment process. For now, the authorities are proceeding with the teacher appointments as per the existing reservation rules and DSC notification. The final results and appointment details are expected to be announced by the end of the month, pending any new guidelines or changes.
