Successful Completion of 11-Day Ganesh Idol Immersion: Authorities Ensure Smooth Flow of Traffic

*Hyderabad, September 18*: The curtains have finally fallen on an extended 11-day Ganesh Chaturthi celebration, with the last day’s events stretching beyond 40 hours to ensure the successful immersion of thousands of Ganesh idols. The entire city witnessed the grand procession and immersion of nearly 1000 idols, culminating in a massive yet meticulously coordinated operation led by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and other government departments.Citizens of the South Zone showed remarkable cooperation, expediting the movement of idols. By 10:30 PM, South Zone idols had crossed Naya Pul, ensuring that the immersion could proceed smoothly through the night. Authorities opened major traffic junctions, such as Ambedkar Junction and Telugu Talli Secretariat Junction, by 6 AM for general traffic. By 10 AM, all traffic bottlenecks had been cleared, restoring normalcy across the city. The strategic stacking of idol-laden trucks along Necklace Road was handled with precision, allowing the immersion to be completed over the next 5-6 hours without disrupting regular traffic flow. CP CV Anand commended the tireless efforts of the GHMC and various departments involved. “I extend my gratitude to GHMC and all government departments for their excellent coordination over the past 11 days. Special thanks to my officers for their dedication and motivation in ensuring the event went off without any major issues,” CV Anand said. However, authorities expressed concern over the use of loud DJ music systems during the event, noting that they had become a source of disruption. “DJ systems have become a nuisance at many immersion points. We are actively exploring ways to address this issue in future bandobust operations,” the official added. The city has returned to its usual pace, thanks to the careful planning and teamwork demonstrated by all involved, ensuring a successful and peaceful conclusion to this year’s Ganesh idol immersion.
