Hyderabad, September 29 – In a significant update for students across Telangana, the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) has extended the deadline for junior college admissions for the academic year 2024-25. The deadline has now been pushed to October 15, 2024, giving students additional time to secure their seats.Inter Board Secretary Shruti Ojha announced this extension on Saturday evening, advising students to complete their admissions to government, aided, private, model schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs), and Gurukula Junior Colleges. The extension also includes a provision for late admissions to private junior colleges, which will require a late fee of Rs. 500.However, this late fee will not apply to students enrolling in government junior colleges, where admissions are exempt from any additional charges. Ojha urged students and their parents to ensure that they only enroll in affiliated junior colleges, as the list of recognized institutions has been made available on the official Inter Board website.Additionally, she cautioned students against enrolling in unrecognized colleges, reiterating the importance of choosing institutions that meet the board’s standards. Ojha also directed principals of junior colleges to complete the admissions process for first-year intermediate students by October 15, ensuring a smooth transition into the new academic year. This announcement brings relief to many students who had been concerned about missing the initial admissions deadline.
