*New Delhi: September 14, 2024*The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced an extension for the free online update of Aadhaar card details. Initially, the last date for free updates was set for September 14, 2024. However, the deadline has now been extended to December 14, 2024, allowing millions of Aadhaar cardholders additional time to make changes without any charge.In a recent post on social media platform X, UIDAI stated, “UIDAI extends free online document upload facility till 14th December 2024; to benefit millions of Aadhaar Number Holders.” It also clarified that this free service is available exclusively on the *myAadhaar* portal, where users can easily update their address, name, mobile number, or photograph.After the new deadline, a fee will be required to upload documents and make changes to Aadhaar profiles via the *myAadhaar* portal. UIDAI has been encouraging Aadhaar cardholders to keep their documents up-to-date for continued ease of access to various services linked with Aadhaar.This extension provides relief to a large number of users, ensuring that they have sufficient time to update their Aadhaar details at no extra cost.
