Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Orders Immediate Closure of All Transport Department Check Posts

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has issued strict orders to shut down all Transport Department check posts across the state with immediate effect.

Following his directive, the Transport Commissioner has instructed all District Transport Officers (DTOs) to ensure swift implementation and compliance with the government’s order.

According to officials, the decision was taken to increase transparency and curb irregularities within the transport system.


Removal of Boards and Barricades

District Transport Officers have been instructed to personally supervise the removal of existing boards, barricades, and structures at all check posts.
New signboards must be installed, clearly indicating that the check posts have been permanently closed.


Withdrawal of On-Duty Staff

All staff currently stationed at the check posts have been ordered to withdraw immediately.
The Transport Commissioner directed that the entire removal process be recorded on video and securely archived for administrative documentation.


Safe Transfer of Records and Equipment

All records, computers, furniture, and other assets from the closed check posts should be shifted to the respective DTO offices.
Additionally, cash books, receipts, challans, and administrative files must be properly secured at district offices to prevent any loss of official data.


Uninterrupted Vehicle Movement

The Chief Minister emphasized that the closure process must be carried out without causing any disruption to vehicle movement.
All DTOs were instructed to submit detailed reports by 5 PM today confirming the closure, redeployment of staff, and safe storage of records.
