The lawyers later moved towards the commissioner’s office after being stopped. Senior administrative and police officials reached the spot and held discussions with representatives of the advocates.
Following the discussions, officials assured the lawyers that a delegation would be given an opportunity to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The lawyers then held back from moving further towards the venue.

Yogi Adityanath’s visit was linked to the BJP’s organisational programme in Western Uttar Pradesh.
The Chief Minister addressed the Shakti Kendra Sanyojak conference in Meerut alongside BJP national president Nitin Nabin. The event focused on the party’s organisational structure and preparations in the region.
The lawyers’ protest took place as the political programme was underway in the city.
The advocates were seeking a direct meeting with the Chief Minister to put forward their demand for the High Court bench.
Police-Lawyers Face-Off
The situation remained tense after police stopped the lawyers from proceeding towards the programme venue. Reports said police officials and advocates exchanged heated words during the intervention.
Officials later intervened and spoke with representatives of the lawyers.
