Supreme Court Grants Bail to Kavitha, Sparks Political Reactions

*Hyderabad, August 27:* The Supreme Court has granted bail to BRS MLC Kavitha in the Delhi liquor scam case, after she spent nearly five months in Tihar Jail. The ruling has ignited a wave of political reactions.Former minister and BRS leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav criticized those questioning the Supreme Court’s judgment. He expressed frustration at comments suggesting that Kavitha should remain in jail indefinitely, calling such remarks insulting to the judiciary. Yadav pointed out that 11 individuals have become approvers in the case and highlighted the lack of recovered funds, arguing that the criticism of Kavitha’s bail is unfounded and disrespectful.Meanwhile, Dasoju Shravan of the BRS thanked the Supreme Court for the decision and criticized the investigative agencies, ED and CBI, for their handling of the case. He asserted that the Supreme Court’s strong objections during the hearing suggest that the case is unlikely to succeed. Shravan praised Kavitha as a resilient leader who will continue her efforts to bolster the party following her release.Congress leaders, on the other hand, have implied that Kavitha’s bail is politically motivated, part of an alliance strategy involving the BJP. They pointed out inconsistencies in the treatment of similar cases, suggesting a partisan bias in judicial decisions. Shravan responded by rejecting these claims, reaffirming that the BRS will not align with the BJP and accusing Congress of spreading false narratives. The Supreme Court’s decision has clearly polarized opinions, reflecting broader political tensions surrounding the high-profile case.
