Mee Seva Services Paralyzed: Certificate Issuance Halted for Ten Days

*Hyderabad, September 20:* Mee Seva centers across Telangana have been paralyzed for the past ten days due to a technical issue at the state data center, severely impacting students and job seekers. The suspension of services has left many unable to access crucial certificates required for higher education admissions and job applications.Mee Seva, a flagship service under the Digital Telangana initiative, provides up to 200 government services across 2,856 centers, including the issuance of caste, income, and EWS certificates from the revenue department. These certificates are vital for students and job seekers who require them to avail concessions and secure quotas in educational institutions and recruitment processes. The disruption comes at a critical time, with entrance exams for postgraduate courses currently underway. Many graduates are scrambling to apply for state and central government jobs, and certificates are a prerequisite for these applications. For instance, the extended deadline for the ISET entrance exam for MBA admissions is set to end on September 20, and the deadline for this year’s MBA admissions has already passed.Additionally, notifications for several central government job opportunities, including those issued by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), have recently closed. Candidates who would have benefited from fee concessions and reserved quotas through caste and income certificates have been left in a lurch due to the prolonged outage.Thousands of students and job aspirants have been left with no recourse, with many making fruitless trips to Mandal Revenue Offices (MMARO) in a bid to resolve their issues. As the technical fault continues, the delay is causing widespread distress and frustration, and there is no clear timeline for when services will resume. The government is yet to provide an official statement on when the Mee Seva centers will be back online, leaving many to worry about the impact this disruption will have on their future opportunities.
