AIMIM Delegation Protests “Illegal” Musi Survey in Meeting with Principal Secretary MA&UD

*Hyderabad, October 1, 2024* – A delegation of AIMIM legislators, acting under the directives of AIMIM President Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi, met with Mr. Dana Kishore, IAS, Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD), to raise strong objections concerning an alleged illegal survey conducted in the Musi River area without proper statutory authorization.The AIMIM delegation, which included MLAs Ahmed Balala, Mubeen, and Zulfeqar, demanded clarity and accountability regarding the survey. The legislators emphasized the need for transparency and adherence to legal procedures, as they questioned the legitimacy of the survey and its potential consequences on the area.The delegation requested a detailed report on several key points:1. The date on which the survey was conducted.2. The legal framework under which the survey was authorized.3. Clarification on whether a preliminary or final notification was issued defining the Full Tank Level (FTL) and buffer zone boundaries prior to the survey.4. Confirmation on whether the survey was conducted with support from relevant departments, including revenue and irrigation.5. Whether the boundaries established in 2003 were taken into account during the survey.6. The rationale for conducting a resurvey based on these factors.The AIMIM representatives argued that the survey lacked proper legal grounding and requested immediate action to address their concerns. They emphasized the need for transparency in the planning and development process around the Musi River to ensure the protection of local residents and resources.The Principal Secretary, Mr. Dana Kishore, assured the delegation that their concerns would be reviewed, and a detailed response would be provided.
