*October 26, 2024*In a groundbreaking initiative, the Telangana government has announced a unique employment scheme that links literacy to job opportunities in the irrigation sector. Residents who can read and write will be eligible to receive a tap connected to the irrigation department in their villages.Under this new policy, the government will recruit 1,597 Lashkars and 281 helpers to monitor major canals, dams, and reservoirs. These positions will involve gate operations and will be filled on an outsourcing basis.Candidates aged below 45 years, regardless of their educational background, are encouraged to apply. This inclusive approach also extends to physically challenged individuals, ensuring equal opportunities for all.Successful applicants will receive a monthly salary of Rs. 15,600, making this scheme not only a step toward improving irrigation management but also a means to promote literacy and empower local communities.
