Hyderabad, Aug 3, 2025 –
In a significant move towards enhancing transparency and security, the Telangana government has launched a new QR code-based visitor management system at the state Secretariat in Hyderabad.
Visitors entering the Secretariat will now be required to obtain an *e-pass embedded with a unique QR code. This innovative system is officially known as the *“Visitor e-Pass Management System”.
Under this system, each visitor’s full details will be digitally recorded, including their name, contact information, reason for visit, and the exact time of entry and exit. The authorities aim to ensure better tracking and streamline the entire visitor protocol within the administrative hub.
Officials explained that this system allows real-time monitoring of visitor flow and interactions. One key feature is the ability to track the progress of applications submitted to ministers or their offices, helping evaluate how many issues are being addressed effectively.
According to Secretariat sources, this digital transformation will not only strengthen security protocols but will also foster *administrative transparency. The initiative is part of the state’s broader push towards *smart governance and tech-enabled infrastructure.
The move is receiving praise for prioritizing both efficiency and accountability, especially in high-security government environments where managing footfall is crucial.
With Telangana taking this step, other states may soon follow suit by adopting similar QR code visitor management systems to modernize their administrative practices.
