New Delhi, September 11, 2025 –
In a major boost to India’s defence self-reliance, *Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), in collaboration with **Indra, a global leader in aerospace, defence, and mobility technologies, has successfully delivered and commissioned the *first 3D–ASR–Lanza–N naval radar system aboard an Indian Navy warship.
This milestone makes TASL the first Indian company to demonstrate the ability to build and integrate next-generation naval surveillance radar systems, marking a giant step toward Atmanirbhar Bharat in the defence sector.
Key Breakthrough in Defence Technology
The 3D–ASR–Lanza–N radar has been fully integrated with all onboard systems of the warship. Its acceptance followed rigorous sea trials, during which multiple naval and aerial platforms were deployed to validate radar performance across different radar cross-sections.
With significant localisation in system assembly and integration, the achievement reinforces India’s growing defence manufacturing ecosystem.
Statement from Tata Advanced Systems
TASL highlighted that the successful delivery underscores India’s capability to design, develop, and indigenize advanced defence systems, while also strengthening naval operational readiness.
The commissioning of this radar represents not just an industrial feat but also a strategic milestone for Indian defence modernization, ensuring enhanced maritime security in a rapidly evolving regional environment.
