**Hyderabad, October 4, 2024** – In a strong statement against the Congress party’s unfulfilled promises, BRS MLA Harish Rao announced that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will stage a protest at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s residence in Delhi, demanding the fulfillment of the crop loan waiver promise made to farmers.Addressing the media, Harish Rao criticized the Congress for making promises across states without following through. “In Karnataka, the Congress promised five guarantees and got votes. In Telangana, they promised six guarantees. Now in Haryana, they are offering seven guarantees, and tomorrow in Maharashtra, they might promise eight. Rahul Gandhi should be held accountable and ask whether these promises are actually being implemented,” said Harish Rao.The BRS, which has been vocal in its support for farmers, is protesting Congress’s failure to deliver on the crop loan waiver promise, a key issue for farmers across Telangana. The demand for loan waivers has been a long-standing one, with farmers struggling under the burden of debt due to erratic weather and poor yields.Rao further called out what he referred to as Congress’s “politics of false guarantees,” accusing them of using promises to win elections without proper intent to execute them. “It is time for Rahul Gandhi to step up and explain why the Congress has failed to implement the very promises they made to the people, especially farmers,” he added. The upcoming protest in Delhi is expected to draw significant attention, as BRS plans to bring the issue to the national stage, urging Congress to fulfill its promises to the agricultural community.
