Disha Salian Case: Lawyer Says Post-Mortem Report ‘Seemed Fabricated’ After Bombay HC Orders CBI Probe
A major development has emerged in the Disha Salian death case. The Bombay High Court has ordered a CBI investigation into the 2020 death of the former celebrity manager.
Following the court’s decision, Disha Salian’s lawyer made a strong statement about the evidence in the case.
> “The post-mortem report seemed fabricated. We have enough evidence to get the death penalty for the accused.”
The statement comes amid renewed scrutiny of the circumstances surrounding Salian’s death. Her father, Satish Salian, had approached the Bombay High Court seeking an FIR and a fresh investigation.
The court has now directed the CBI to register an FIR and take over the investigation. Mumbai Police has also been asked to hand over the relevant case records to the central agency.
Bombay HC Raises Questions Over Earlier Probe
The case had remained under an Accidental Death Report (ADR) for years. During earlier hearings, the Bombay High Court questioned why an FIR was not registered despite allegations raised by Salian’s family.
The court had also raised questions about aspects of the post-mortem findings. These concerns have added to the calls for a fresh and independent investigation.
Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, after falling from a high-rise building in Mumbai’s Malad area. Her death occurred days before actor Sushant Singh Rajput died in Mumbai.
CBI Probe to Examine Allegations
The CBI investigation is expected to examine the circumstances surrounding Salian’s death. It will also look into allegations of foul play raised by her family.
However, allegations made by the family or their legal representatives are not findings of guilt. Any accused person can be held responsible only after evidence is established through the legal process.
The Bombay High Court has also cautioned against treating anyone as an accused without sufficient evidence.
The latest court order marks a significant turn in the long-running Disha Salian case. The CBI probe could now bring fresh focus to evidence, medical records and the circumstances surrounding her death.
