Four Indians, Including Two from Hyderabad, Killed in Fiery Multi-Vehicle Crash in Texas

In a tragic incident on U.S. 75 in Anna, Texas, four Indian nationals, including two from Hyderabad, lost their lives in a devastating multi-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon. The collision, which occurred just past White Street at around 3:30 PM, involved approximately five vehicles and resulted in the death of Aryan Raghunath Orampati from Hyderabad, his friend Farooq Shaik, Lokesh Palacharla, and Darshini Vasudevan from Tamil Nadu.The victims, who had connected through a carpooling app for their journey to Bentonville, were trapped in an SUV that burst into flames following a severe rear-end collision by a speeding truck. The intensity of the fire left their bodies charred beyond recognition, making identification challenging. Authorities are relying on DNA fingerprinting, using teeth and bone remnants, to confirm the identities.Aryan Raghunath Orampati, a resident of Bentonville, was returning home after visiting his cousin in Dallas. Lokesh Palacharla was en route to Bentonville to visit his wife, and Darshini Vasudevan, a Master’s graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington, was heading to visit her uncle. Farooq Shaik, who had recently completed his studies in the U.S., was also traveling with them.The families of the victims, now in deep grief, are awaiting the results of the DNA fingerprinting for confirmation. Darshini Vasudevan’s parents have appealed to India’s Union External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, for assistance.The Anna Police and Fire Departments responded to the crash, with traffic being diverted as the highway remains shut down. The delay in identification has been exacerbated by the long holiday weekend in the U.S., prolonging the agony for the grieving families.
