Honeytrap Scams Uncovered in Visakhapatnam: Woman Accused of Blackmailing Multiple Victims

Visakhapatnam: A major honeytrap racket has come to light in Visakhapatnam, with a woman named Jemima at the center of the scandal. Jemima, who is currently in remand, has been accused of luring and blackmailing multiple victims, including a man from Hyderabad, in exchange for large sums of money.According to reports, Jemima allegedly trapped a businessman from Hyderabad in her scheme and extorted a significant amount of money from him through threats and coercion. The victim was forced to pay Rs. 1 crore and was then blackmailed for an additional Rs. 3 crore. Fearing for his safety, the victim fled to Hyderabad, only to find himself further implicated when Jemima filed false sexual harassment cases against him.The situation escalated when other victims began to come forward, with at least three individuals lodging complaints against Jemima. The victims have claimed that they were also threatened and blackmailed for money. Following these revelations, the primary victim filed a complaint with the Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner. Subsequently, the Airport Police Station in Visakhapatnam registered cases against Jemima under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including charges related to extortion and criminal intimidation.The investigation is ongoing, and the authorities are now looking into whether more individuals may have been targeted in this elaborate scheme. Jemima remains in custody as the police gather evidence and further victims come forward.
