This alert follows the circulation of a false claim about a “free ride service” for women during late-night hours.The misleading post, which suggested that women traveling alone between 10 pm and 6 am could avail of a free police vehicle ride home by calling specific helpline numbers, was widely shared online. The Hyderabad City Police have since clarified that no such service is offered.In their statement, the police emphasized that disseminating unverified information can cause unnecessary panic and confusion. They urged the public to rely on official sources for accurate and current details about public safety services.
