According to official sources, the explosion took place in a dense forest area when unsuspecting villagers were passing through. The improvised explosive device (IED) is believed to have been planted by Maoists with the intention of targeting security forces patrolling the area.
Unfortunately, the blast injured four villagers instead. All the victims were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. As per initial reports, they are now under observation and out of danger.
