*Hyderabad, September 7, 2024* — A series of late-night raids at five popular pubs in Hyderabad, including the Quorum Club in Sherlingampally and Babylon in Jubilee Hills, led to the arrest of four individuals who tested positive for drug consumption. The raids were conducted on Friday night by teams from the Excise Enforcement Department, under the direction of Excise Enforcement Director VB Kamalasan Reddy.Out of the 33 people tested, four were found to have consumed drugs. At Quorum, two out of seven individuals tested positive, while at Babylon, two out of 12 were identified for drug use. The individuals caught in the raids include Chinna Nagesh from Warangal, Northu Ravikumar from Srikakulam, TVS Keshavrao from Moosapet, and Abdul Rahim from Charminar.The operation was led by Joint Commissioner Qureshi, with assistance from Assistant Commissioner R Kishan, and Anil Kumar Reddy. The TG NAB Police and Excise Police also collaborated in this operation.Urine samples were collected on-site and tested using drug detection kits to confirm the individuals’ consumption of banned substances. The Excise Department has since released videos and images of the raid, emphasizing the ongoing crackdown on drug use in the city’s nightlife venues.The raids are part of a larger effort to combat the increasing drug-related incidents in Hyderabad. Authorities have promised to continue their vigilance to curb the rising drug menace and urged the public to refrain from illegal substance use.
