Macherla Municipality Shifts Allegiance to TDP with Councilor Defections

In a surprising political shift, 16 Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) councilors from Macherla Municipality have defected to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). This move significantly alters the political landscape of the municipality, which now fully aligns with the TDP.Macherla Municipality, which consists of 31 wards, saw a substantial change in its governance dynamics following these defections. The TDP now holds a dominant position in the municipality, as it already had 14 councilors join the party previously. In related developments, Macherla Municipal Chairman Chinna Esobu resigned less than a week ago. Subsequently, Vice Chairman Poluru Narasimha Rao, who recently joined the TDP under the leadership of Macherla MLA Julakanti Brahma Reddy, has been elected as the new Chairman. Poluru Narasimha Rao was officially sworn in today, consolidating TDP’s control over the municipality.
