**August 24, 2024**The Moinabad police have arrested B. Raju, 36, for allegedly torturing and killing a street dog in Aziz Nagar. The arrest follows a complaint filed by the Stray Animal Foundation of India, which included video evidence of the incident.Raju has been charged under Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for causing harm to an animal and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act, 1960. Reports indicate that Raju tied the dog to a telecom pole and repeatedly assaulted it until it succumbed to its injuries. Afterward, he discarded the dog’s body in a field.The police are continuing their investigation into the case, emphasizing their commitment to addressing animal cruelty.
