Pahadishareef Police Arrest Nurse Murder Accused Within 30 Hours in Thukkuguda
Hyderabad: Pahadishareef Police have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the alleged rape and murder of a 21-year-old nurse in Thukkuguda, Ranga Reddy district.
The accused has been identified as MD Sanaullah, a bike mechanic from Bihar. Police reportedly arrested him within 30 hours of receiving the complaint.
The victim, identified in reports as Vuke Shirisha, worked as a nurse at Prime Care Hospital. She had been staying in accommodation provided near the hospital along with other nursing staff.
Nurse Found Dead in Hospital Accommodation
The incident came to light on August 29. Shirisha’s roommate became concerned after she failed to respond to repeated knocks and calls.
The room was eventually accessed through a window. Shirisha was found dead inside, with serious injuries to her face.
Police initially registered a murder case and began investigating the circumstances surrounding her death. A clues team and other investigative units were involved in the probe.
Police Trace Suspect Through CCTV and Evidence
According to investigators, Sanaullah worked at a motorcycle repair shop located close to the hospital.
Police said he had been living and working in the area after coming to Hyderabad in 2023. Investigators also examined CCTV footage and other technical evidence during the probe.
Police allege that the accused entered the nurse’s room through a window during the early hours of August 29.
According to the investigation reported by local media, Shirisha resisted the alleged sexual assault. Police allege that she was then attacked and strangled.
The investigation is continuing, with police collecting scientific and other corroborative evidence. A Samsung mobile phone and clothes were reportedly seized from the accused.
Arrest Triggers Outrage in Hyderabad
The case has caused shock across the Thukkuguda and Pahadishareef areas. Family members and supporters also protested at Osmania General Hospital, demanding justice for the victim.
The Telangana Nurses Association has separately raised concerns about the safety and security of nursing staff following the incident.
Police officials said the investigation is being conducted under the supervision of senior officers. The accused will face the legal process as the investigation and evidence collection continue.
