PM Modi Meets Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan on SCO Summit Sidelines in Bishkek
Bishkek, August 31, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Bishkek on Monday.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Kyrgyzstan.
The two leaders reviewed the progress of India-Armenia relations. They also discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
According to a readout from the Armenian Prime Minister’s Office, both sides expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral ties.
They stressed the need for joint efforts to take the relationship to a higher level.
Pashinyan also reaffirmed his invitation to Prime Minister Modi to visit Armenia. He expressed his readiness to visit India at a mutually convenient time.
The leaders also exchanged views on regional issues. Discussions included progress on the TRIPP project, according to the Armenian side.
The meeting comes during the 2026 SCO Summit in Bishkek. India is using the summit to engage with several regional and international leaders.
The SCO platform provides an opportunity for discussions on security, connectivity, economic cooperation and regional stability.
