PM Modi Meets Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov in Bishkek, Discusses Strategic Ties
Bishkek: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov in Bishkek on Monday.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.
The two leaders reviewed the progress of bilateral relations between India and the Kyrgyz Republic.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the India-Kyrgyzstan Strategic Partnership.

Modi’s Central Asia Visit
PM Modi is on a two-day visit to Kyrgyzstan for the SCO Summit.
He arrived in Bishkek on Sunday after completing his Uzbekistan visit.
During his stay, Modi is holding several bilateral meetings with leaders attending the SCO gathering.
The visit is aimed at strengthening India’s strategic partnerships across Central Asia.
The 26th SCO Summit is being held in Bishkek from August 31 to September 1.
Regional security, connectivity and economic cooperation are among the broader issues surrounding the summit.
India has also stressed the need for cooperation against terrorism, separatism and extremism.
