New Delhi, August 22, 2024 – The Center has announced Z Plus category security for Sharad Pawar, the chief of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). This decision comes in response to reports of a credible threat to Pawar, who previously served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.Effective immediately, Pawar will be protected by a contingent of 55 personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The elevated security measures reflect the seriousness of the threat as assessed by central security agencies.The Z Plus security arrangement is one of the highest levels of protection provided by the government and includes a dedicated team of CRPF jawans to ensure Pawar’s safety.
