*Janagama District* – In a significant administrative move, the Janagama District Collector, Sheikh Razwan Bhasha, has issued show cause notices to 54 headmasters across various schools in the district. The action follows concerns over student attendance and unauthorized leave approvals.The District Education Officer recently sent notices to 47 headmasters due to their schools’ student attendance falling below 25 percent. Additionally, seven headmasters received notices for improperly sanctioning casual leave (CL) to over 60 teachers. District Education Department Officer Ramu confirmed that these notices cover both primary and high school headmasters. The show cause notices are a part of efforts to address the drop in student attendance and ensure proper management of teacher leave policies.The headmasters are now required to respond to these notices, explaining the reasons behind the attendance issues and the leave sanctioning practices at their respective schools.
