SIR-2026: Telangana Draft Electoral Rolls Published, Claims and Objections Open Till September 16
Hyderabad: The draft electoral rolls under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 have been published in Telangana. Voters can now check their names and personal details in the draft list.
The claims and objections window is open from August 17 to September 16, 2026. Citizens have been asked to verify their electoral details without waiting for the deadline.
The Election Commission has also announced special campaigns at polling stations across Telangana. These drives will be held on September 5 and 6, followed by another campaign on September 12 and 13.
During these campaigns, voters can approach the designated officials at polling stations. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) will assist with verification and corrections.
Check Your Name in the Draft Voter List
Eligible voters should carefully check the draft electoral roll. They should confirm their name, address and other personal details.
If a name is missing, the voter can submit a claim for inclusion. Errors in existing entries can also be reported during the claims and objections period.
The Election Commission’s prescribed process uses different forms for different requests. Form 6 is used for inclusion of a new elector. Form 7 is used for objections or deletion-related requests.
Form 8 is used for corrections and other updates to an elector’s existing details.
Special Campaign Dates for SIR 2026
The special polling-station campaigns are aimed at making the verification process easier for voters.
- September 5–6, 2026: First special campaign
- September 12–13, 2026: Second special campaign
- September 16, 2026: Last date for claims and objections
Voters can use these campaign days to review the draft roll. They can also submit the required forms through the prescribed process.
Over 9 Lakh Claims and Objections Received
The SIR exercise has already seen significant voter participation in Telangana. As of September 1, authorities had received 9,07,292 claims and objections.
These included applications for new voter enrolment, deletion-related objections and corrections. Officials had also generated more than 92.88 lakh notices as part of the revision process.
The Election Commission has urged voters to use the available period to check their details. Correcting errors before the final electoral roll is published can help prevent problems later.
Why Voter Verification Matters
The draft electoral roll is an important stage in the SIR process. Citizens should not assume that their previous voter registration automatically guarantees their presence in the draft list.
Voters should check their details and raise an objection if they find an error. Eligible citizens whose names are missing should also follow the prescribed procedure for inclusion.
