Annamayya District, September 26In a shocking incident, the police have arrested a son and his wife for the brutal murder of his mother in Mulakalacheru, Tamballapalle constituency, Annamayya district. The crime, which took place on Sunday, September 22, came to light after an intense investigation led to the arrest of the accused.According to Mulakalacheru Circle Inspector (CI) Rajaramesh, the deceased, A. Safia Begum, was strangled to death by her son, Chinnareddy Basha, and his wife, Ashiya. The tragic incident unfolded after a heated argument over property between Safia Begum and her younger son and daughter-in-law. Safia, who was sleeping on a bed following the altercation, was attacked and murdered in a brutal manner.CI Rajaramesh stated that the couple used a knife to strangle Safia Begum, ending her life in cold blood. The investigation has now revealed that property disputes within the family were at the heart of this heinous crime. The accused, Chinnareddy Basha and Ashiya, were arrested late Thursday night and are currently in police custody.
