Telangana to Establish Young India Sports University in Hyderabad

**Hyderabad, August 17, 2024** – The Telangana government has announced plans to establish the Young India Sports University in Hyderabad, set to be located within the Sports Hub being developed in the Future City project. This state-of-the-art facility will feature around 12 sports academies equipped with advanced infrastructure and include a sports science and sports medicine center.The government is considering the sports school at Hakimpet or the Gachibowli sports complex as potential sites for the university. The aim is to elevate the campus to meet Olympic standards. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who recently visited Korea National Sports University, praised the institution for its contribution to South Korea’s success in the 2024 Paris Olympics, with many medals won by its athletes. The state plans to collaborate with the Korean university as technical partners to develop future Olympic champions.
