TG SAFE Raids 19 Cafes and Snack Points in Hyderabad, Finds Food Safety Violations
Hyderabad: The Telangana Food Safety authorities have stepped up inspections across Hyderabad.
As part of a special enforcement drive, nine TG SAFE food safety teams inspected 19 cafes and snack points in the city.
Officials reported several food safety and hygiene violations during the inspections.
The teams found spoiled and expired food items at some establishments. They also detected infestations of houseflies and cockroaches.
Poor hygiene and sanitation practices were also observed at several locations.
Shadab Hotel Licence Suspended
The food safety authorities took strict action against Shadab Hotel at Madina.
Its food safety licence has been suspended following the reported violations found during the inspection.
The action highlights the department’s focus on compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
Two Cafes Closed
Authorities also ordered the closure of two establishments.
Dreamz Cafeteria in Bagh Lingampally and Asiatic Café in Panjagutta were closed following inspections.
Officials said further action may follow based on the findings and compliance status of the establishments.
15 Food Samples Sent for Testing
Food safety teams collected 15 samples on suspicion of adulteration.
The samples have been sent for laboratory testing. Their test results will help determine whether further action is required.
Notices were also issued to several cafes over the violations detected during the drive.
Continued Food Safety Checks in Hyderabad
The latest action comes amid increased food safety inspections across Hyderabad.
TG SAFE teams have recently conducted raids at restaurants and other food establishments. Earlier inspections also found expired food, pest infestation, hygiene lapses and problems involving food storage and labelling.
Authorities have indicated that inspections will continue to ensure food businesses follow prescribed safety and hygiene standards.
