Water Release for Nagarjuna Sagar Canal Cultivation Commences

*Hyderabad: August 2, 2024* — The Nagarjuna Sagar project is set to receive a significant influx of water following the release from the Srisailam dam. As of 6 PM on Thursday, the storage level at Nagarjuna Sagar reached 182.95 TMC, up from its full capacity of 312.05 TMC.In light of this, the government plans to channel water into the Nagarjuna Sagar canal for irrigation purposes. The official water release ceremony is scheduled for 4 PM today, with key officials including Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Tummala Nageswara Rao overseeing the process. This initiative aims to support canal cultivation and enhance agricultural productivity in the region.
