Mailardevpally Police Recover ₹24.49 Lakh Stolen Cash; CCTV Helps Crack Case
Hyderabad: Mailardevpally Police have cracked a major cash theft case in Katedan and recovered ₹24,49,500 in stolen money.
The cash was allegedly stolen from the office of Harsh Bakers Biscuit Company. Police arrested a 28-year-old former employee in connection with the case.
The accused has been identified as Anil Nagorao Kamble, a former worker at the company. Police said the cash was kept inside an office locker on August 31.
The theft came to light the following morning. Employees found the office door, almirah and locker broken open.
Following a complaint, Mailardevpally Police registered a case and launched an investigation. Special teams were formed to trace the suspect.
CCTV Footage Leads Police to Suspect
CCTV footage proved crucial in the investigation. Police examined cameras installed at the premises and nearby locations.
Investigators also used technical evidence and questioned witnesses. These leads helped police identify and trace Kamble.
Police subsequently apprehended the accused and recovered the stolen cash. A Redmi mobile phone was also recovered from his residence, according to police.
The recovered amount was intact, bringing a swift breakthrough in the case.
Police Stress Stronger Security Measures
Police have advised business establishments to maintain proper CCTV surveillance. They also urged companies to strengthen security around cash and valuables.
Officials stressed the importance of employee background verification. Regular cash audits and restricted access to lockers were also recommended.
The case highlights how CCTV surveillance and technical investigation can help police trace suspects and recover stolen property.
The investigation into the case is continuing, police said.
