Mailardevpally Murder Case: Three Accused Arrested, Police Recover Key Evidence
Hyderabad: Mailardevpally Police have cracked the murder of auto driver Mohammed Abdul Rauf. Three accused were arrested in connection with the case.
The arrests were made on Friday, September 4, within about 48 hours of the murder. Police also recovered key evidence during the investigation.
The accused have been identified as Mohammed Javeed alias Hekla Javeed, Mohammed Abdullah and Shaik Arif. Police said the trio was allegedly involved in the killing of Rauf.
Murder Reported in Ali Nagar
Rauf was allegedly attacked on the night of September 2 in the Ali Nagar area. He was travelling in his auto when the accused allegedly intercepted him.
According to the police investigation, pepper spray was used before the attack. The accused allegedly assaulted Rauf with knives.
Rauf suffered multiple injuries and died in the attack.
Police registered a murder case and launched an investigation. CCTV footage and other evidence were examined to trace the suspects.
Police Arrest Three Suspects
The investigation led police to the accused near Aramghar early on September 4. The three were allegedly attempting to escape towards Basavakalyan in Karnataka.
Police apprehended them around 6 am, according to the investigation details.
During the probe, officers recovered Rauf’s mobile phone and other belongings. The accused also allegedly revealed where weapons and other material had been discarded.
Police recovered the weapons, blood-stained clothes and pepper spray bottles from bushes near Palle Cheruvu.
Prime Accused Linked to 180 Cases
Police said Mohammed Javeed has a long criminal history. He is allegedly involved in around 180 cases.
These cases are registered across Hyderabad, neighbouring districts and Karnataka, according to police.
The other accused also have previous cases. Shaik Arif is reportedly linked to three cases, while Mohammed Abdullah has one case registered against him.
Police Suspect Revenge Motive
Investigators said the murder appears to have stemmed from a previous dispute.
Police stated that Javeed suspected Rauf of having a role in the death of his younger brother Sajid in Karnataka in 2024.
Javeed also allegedly claimed that Rauf had threatened and mocked him and his associates. Police said this led to the alleged murder plan.
The Mailardevpally Police are continuing further investigation into the case. The accused have been taken into custody as the investigation proceeds.
