₹10,000 Crore Wind Power Projects Planned in AP’s Rayadurg
Rayadurg, Andhra Pradesh: Suzlon Energy is set to establish wind power projects with a total capacity of 1,325 MW in Rayadurg of Anantapur district at an estimated investment of ₹10,000 crore.
According to the company’s proposals, the projects are expected to generate direct and indirect employment for around 4,000 people.
As part of the initiative, Minister Nara Lokesh is scheduled to launch new S144 blade manufacturing lines of Suzlon at Huliker village in Kanekal mandal on Tuesday, the state government said.
Suzlon currently has an installed wind power capacity of around 1,700 MW in Andhra Pradesh, making it one of the largest wind energy partners in the state. The company also operates a rotor blade manufacturing unit at Ippuru in Kuderu mandal of the Uravakonda Assembly constituency.
The Andhra Pradesh government and Suzlon are jointly implementing what has been described as one of the country’s largest Green School Development Projects. World-class Wind Energy Learning Centres are also being established in Uravakonda and Vijayawada, with plans to provide training to around 12,000 young people.
