Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for Public Enterprises and Minority Welfare Mohammed Azharuddin praised the Telangana Public School (TPS) model during his visit to the Telangana Public School, Arutla in Rangareddy district on Saturday, describing it as a benchmark for government education across the country.
After inspecting the school’s digital classrooms, modern laboratories, library, and world-class sports facilities, the minister said the Telangana Government is committed to transforming government schools into institutions that can compete with the best corporate schools.
Addressing students, Azharuddin recalled that such facilities were unavailable during his childhood and encouraged them to make full use of the opportunities being provided. He stressed that hard work, discipline, dedication, and perseverance are the keys to success and urged students to respect their teachers, parents, and fellow classmates.
The minister expressed hope that the Telangana Public School system would produce future doctors, engineers, scientists, sportspersons, and IAS officers who would contribute to the nation.

Responding to students’ requests, Azharuddin stepped onto the cricket field and played with them, entertaining the crowd with his trademark cover drives while also sharing tips on batting, fielding, and handling pressure during matches.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Collector Kiranmayi said the Telangana Government is implementing several innovative initiatives to improve education, including enhanced nutrition under the mid-day meal scheme and the Telangana Public School model, which offers quality education from pre-primary to intermediate on a single campus.
