During a high-level review meeting held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Tuesday, the Chief Secretary reviewed the progress of eco-tourism projects, tiger conservation initiatives, and the development of tiger reserves with senior officials from the Forest and Tourism Departments.
Jaju emphasized the immense potential of eco-tourism in key destinations such as Kinnerasani near Bhadrachalam, Amrabad in the Srisailam-Nallamala forests, Kawal Tiger Reserve along the Godavari region, and the forest areas of Adilabad and Mulugu. He instructed officials to formulate region-specific development plans while ensuring environmental conservation.
He also directed departments to fully utilize Central Government funds allocated for eco-tourism projects and encouraged the adoption of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models to improve infrastructure, generate employment, and contribute to the state’s GDP.
The Chief Secretary further stressed coordinated efforts between the Forest Development Corporation and Tourism Development Corporation to strengthen tourism infrastructure in Future City, Ananthagiri, Vikarabad, and urban green zones while maintaining ecological balance and providing better facilities for visitors and livelihood opportunities for local communities.
