Mancherial, Telangana | July 21: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the Telangana Congress government, alleging that it had failed to fulfill its promises to unemployed youth, farmers, and women. Addressing a farmers’ meeting in Luxettipet, Mancherial district, KTR claimed that Telangana would soon witness a youth-led backlash similar to the recent protests seen in Delhi.
KTR accused the Congress government of deceiving unemployed youth by failing to deliver on its promise of two lakh government jobs and other commitments made in its Youth Declaration. He said growing public anger would soon translate into a large-scale movement against the state government.
Targeting Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, KTR alleged that the Congress government had betrayed every section of society, including farmers, women, and youth. He criticized the government for allegedly failing to implement key poll promises such as the ₹2,500 monthly assistance under the Mahalakshmi scheme and several commitments made to farmers.
The BRS leader also accused the government of mishandling procurement, delaying financial assistance to families of farmers who died at procurement centres, and creating difficulties for farmers in accessing fertilizers. He claimed that BRS had extended financial support of ₹5 lakh each to the families of four deceased farmers on the directions of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).
On irrigation, KTR alleged that the Congress government was deliberately neglecting the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project for political reasons despite the availability of water in the Godavari River. He questioned the delay in repairs at Medigadda Barrage and accused the government of ignoring expert advice on utilizing the project.
Calling on party workers to remain prepared, KTR asserted that only a BRS government under KCR’s leadership could ensure justice for farmers, youth, and other sections of society. He also warned that action would be taken against those who allegedly misused power once BRS returns to office.
