Hyderabad, July 21: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy chaired a high-level review meeting on the Makthal–Narayanpet–Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme (MNKLIS) and development works in the Kodangal region. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure there is no delay in land acquisition for the irrigation project and instructed them to complete the process at the earliest so that the tendering process can begin.
Officials gave a detailed presentation on the progress of the lift irrigation project. Revanth Reddy assured that the state government is ready to appoint additional surveyors and provide the necessary budget to expedite land acquisition.
The Chief Minister also conducted a comprehensive review of development works being carried out under the Kodangal Urban Development Authority (KADA), examining department-wise progress and issuing directions for the timely completion of ongoing projects.
Emphasizing rural connectivity, Revanth Reddy instructed officials to ensure that every village and tribal hamlet in the constituency is connected to its respective mandal headquarters with BT roads. He also directed the construction of Panchayat buildings for newly formed Gram Panchayats and called for the appointment of an Executive Engineer-level officer to continuously monitor the progress of development works
In view of the possible impact of El Niño and anticipated drought conditions, the Chief Minister instructed officials to prepare advance plans to prevent any drinking water shortages across the region.
