Zahirabad Area Hospital Faces Doctor Shortage, Families Protest Over Postmortem Delay
Zahirabad, Sangareddy District: Tension prevailed at the government area hospital in Zahirabad after the postmortem of two accident victims was delayed for several hours.
The victims reportedly died in a road accident near Sajapur village in Kohir mandal, Sangareddy district.
According to the families, the accident occurred at around 10:30 AM. However, even by 8 PM, the postmortem had reportedly not been conducted.
The families alleged that doctors were not available at the Zahirabad Government Area Hospital to carry out the procedure.
They also claimed that the duty doctor, superintendent and RMO were unavailable at the hospital.
The reported shortage of doctors caused distress among the deceased persons’ families. Other patients at the hospital also faced difficulties, according to the protesters.
Families Demand Compensation From DCM Owner
Following the accident, relatives of the deceased demanded compensation from the owner of the DCM vehicle involved in the crash.
The families staged a protest outside the government hospital. They also staged a dharna near the national highway and in front of the Zahirabad Town Police Station.
The protests reportedly caused a large number of vehicles to stop on the road. Traffic movement was affected as relatives continued their demonstration.
Allegations Against Kohir Police
The victims’ families also raised serious allegations against the Kohir Sub-Inspector.
They alleged that the police had not registered a case despite their complaints. The protesters demanded immediate action against the Kohir SI.
The families expressed anger over what they described as a lack of response from the authorities.
“Are Dalit lives not valued?” the protesting relatives asked, expressing their anguish over the situation.
They demanded that senior police officials intervene immediately. They also sought compensation for the deceased families from the DCM vehicle owner.
Demand for Immediate Action
The protesters called for the authorities to address the alleged shortage of doctors at the Zahirabad Area Hospital.
They demanded that the postmortem process be completed without further delay. They also sought action on their police complaint and compensation for the accident victims’ families.
The incident has raised concerns about the availability of doctors and emergency services at the government hospital.
