Telangana DGP CV Anand Hands Over ₹3 Crore Insurance to Families of Deceased Police Personnel
Hyderabad, August 31, 2026: Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C. V. Anand has extended financial support to the families of three police personnel who died in separate road accidents while serving the department.
The DGP handed over insurance cheques worth ₹1 crore each to the families at the DGP office in Hyderabad on Monday. The total insurance assistance amounted to ₹3 crore.
The insurance payouts were made through the police personnel’s insurance accounts maintained with the State Bank of India (SBI).
AR Constable Muthangi Srinivas Dies in Road Accident
AR Constable Muthangi Srinivas, a member of the 2018 batch, died in a road accident within the Shankarpally limits on February 3, 2025.
Following his death, DGP C. V. Anand handed over a cheque for ₹1 crore to his father, Muthangi Yadaiah.
The financial assistance is expected to provide some relief to the bereaved family following the loss of the police constable.
Head Constable Bolepalli Saidulu Killed in Accident
Police Head Constable Bolepalli Saidulu, from the 2004 batch, was serving at the Kanagal Police Station in Nalgonda district.
He died in a road accident on June 3, 2025.
His family was also eligible for insurance assistance through the SBI-linked insurance facility available to police personnel.
Constable K. Venkata Reddy Dies After Truck Collision
Another police constable, K. Venkata Reddy, from Warangal, died in a road accident on March 10, 2026.
Venkata Reddy was working as an ARPC at the headquarters in Warangal. He was reportedly hit from behind by a truck while performing his duties.
His family received ₹1 crore in insurance compensation.
DGP Assures Families of Continued Support
The three deceased personnel had insurance accounts with SBI. The Telangana Police Department coordinated with bank officials to facilitate the settlement of the insurance claims.
DGP C. V. Anand expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased personnel.
He assured them that the police department would continue to stand by families who lose their loved ones in the line of duty.
The DGP also said the department would extend necessary assistance and welfare support to the affected families.
SBI branch officials and police department personnel were also present during the cheque distribution programme.
