Hyderabad: Lallaguda Police Arrest Man Over Alleged Government Job and IPL Ticket Fraud
Hyderabad: Lallaguda Police have arrested a 35-year-old fitness trainer for allegedly cheating people by promising government jobs, IPL tickets and other benefits.
The accused has been identified as Bhukya Mohan Lal, a resident of Kukatpally and a native of Wanaparthy.
According to police, Lal allegedly claimed to have close contacts with ministers, senior police officers, government officials, celebrities and other influential people.
IPL Ticket Deal Leads to Police Case
The case came to light after Lal allegedly promised to arrange eight lounge and ground-floor tickets for an RCB vs Sunrisers IPL match.
The tickets were allegedly offered for ₹1.70 lakh.
Police said the complainant paid ₹1 lakh in cash at Taaza Kitchen in Tarnaka.
However, the accused allegedly failed to provide the tickets.
He allegedly later avoided the complainant and gave different excuses.
Lallaguda Police registered Crime No. 237/2026 on May 30, 2026.
The case was booked under Sections 318(4), 319(2) and 316(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police Suspect Similar Job Fraud
During the investigation, police allegedly found that the accused had used a similar method with other people.
He allegedly promised government jobs in several departments.
These included Police Constable posts, Postal Department jobs and Panchayat Secretary positions.
He also allegedly offered Group-IV employment and other government opportunities.
According to police, money was collected from people after making such promises.
The investigation also indicated alleged offers of IPL tickets and other benefits.
Alleged Fake Influence Claims
Police said Lal allegedly tried to gain the confidence of victims by claiming to work at the Telangana Legislative Secretariat in Hyderabad.
He allegedly claimed to be associated with the Peshi of a minister.
Police also found an identity card that purportedly indicated an association with the Secretariat.
Another identity card reportedly showed him as a PGT – Physical Education at Defence Laboratories School.
The accused, however, was working as a fitness trainer, according to police.
Police Seize Documents
During the investigation, police seized a mobile phone, identity cards, documents and cheques from the accused.
Investigators are now attempting to identify other people who may have allegedly been cheated through the same method.
SI Ch. Vijay apprehended and arrested the accused.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of senior police officers from the Secunderabad Zone and Chilkalguda Division.
Police have urged members of the public to verify claims of government employment or special access to officials before handing over money.
The allegations are part of the ongoing investigation, and further details may emerge as police examine the documents and identify other possible victims.
